Learning about Commas Friday 28th July 2017
What:
What I learned: I learned about commas and what they do. Here is a joke that explain a little bit about a comma and what it does.
So if the Comma wasn't there it will be like Let's eat our Grandma for like actual. If the Comma is after Let's eat it will be like Let's eat something else not like eating your grandma.
I also learned (Well I kinda knew this except the last one already) that the Comma can separate units of a meaning in a sentence.
Example 1: It can separate items in a list. e.g. Danny went to Pak n save he bought bread, raw steak, lettuce and tomato for his delicious sandwich.
Fun Fact: Did you know that you could put the comma before the and e.g. (By the way it's the same example but one slight change) Danny went to Pak n save he bought bread, raw steak, lettuce, and tomato for his delicious sandwich. Did you spot it? Well look at lettuce there is a comma there.
Example 2: A comma can separate a Subordinate Opening e.g. Although he was tired, Dan still went to the party.
New word I learn't: Subordinate Opening. What is a Subordinate Opening? Or you can also call it Subordinate Clause. Subordinate Clause/Subordinate Opening is a little sentence at the start to make it better like Although he was tired, Dan still went to the party. Even though "Dan still went to the party" itself is a sentence already, by itself.
Example 3: Well we didn't learn the third one but if you wonder what it is, it is a Relative Clause.(By the way a comma can separate a Relative Clause)
Next step: Practise more on commas and stop using too much "ands".
What i'm proud of: My Handwriting did get a little bit better and how much work I got done.

CCD (Connected Community Day) Reflection
What:
I learned that Rock Slides and Astroids or Meteorite can make Tsunami even Earthquakes could make Tsunami.
I was involved in MasterChef. Our Learning Coach was Mrs Pearson and the other Learning Coaches was Miss Love and Miss Brambor and Kat? (I don't know how to spell her name. It's Selestine's Mom) The Group I was in made Rice Krispies. The Ingredients were Butter, Marshmallows, Rice Pops or something and that's it.
1st step: Put the butter in a bowl or something then Microwave in for 20 or 25 seconds then after put in the Marshmallows then melt that.
2nd step: Put 6 cups of Rice Pops in a bowl. After put the marshmallows and butter in the bowl with Rice Pops in there then mix it.
3rd step: Spray the cooking spray or oil? On the pan or tray then put a sheet of paper on the tray then put the Rice Krispies on the tray.
4th step: EAT IT.
The other groups made Trail Mix with Marshmallows and another group made Peanut Butter Balls.
It was actually pretty hard going to Pak & Save because we got muddy shoes.
I think the homemade Rice Krispies were better than the one we could but at America or something.
